Terms and Conditions
Last updated: 27 October 2026
1. About These Terms
These Terms & Conditions apply to your use of this website and to enquiries and consultations arranged through it.
The website is operated by Dawn Lankester, a Chartered Counselling Psychologist and Accredited CBT Psychotherapist, based in Hazlemere, Buckinghamshire.
By using this website, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the website.
If you become a client, any separate client agreement or service-specific terms agreed with Dawn will also apply to your therapy or assessment.
2. My Services
I provide psychological support and assessment services for adults, including:
Individual therapy for anxiety, depression, life transitions, self-esteem, OCD, trauma and other psychological difficulties.
Relationship therapy for couples.
Adult ADHD assessment and ongoing support.
Adult autism assessment.
My therapeutic approach draws on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), Schema Therapy and Compassion Focused Therapy. The approach used will depend on your individual needs, circumstances and goals.
Appointments are available in person in Hazlemere, Buckinghamshire, and online.
The information on this website is intended to explain my services and help you decide whether to get in touch. The suitability of a particular service or therapeutic approach will be discussed with you.
Although I aim to provide thoughtful, evidence-based support, I cannot guarantee a particular therapeutic outcome or assessment result.
3. Using This Website
You agree to use this website lawfully and responsibly. You must not:
Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the website or its systems.
Introduce viruses, malicious code or other harmful material.
Copy, reproduce or commercially reuse website content without permission.
Use the website in a way that damages, disrupts or interferes with its operation.
I take reasonable care to keep the information on this website accurate and up to date. However, information may change, and I cannot guarantee that every page will always be complete or current.
I also cannot guarantee uninterrupted access to the website.
4. Enquiries and Consultations
You can contact me through the website’s contact form, by telephone or by email.
The contact form requests your name, email address, subject and message. You can also use the contact details provided in Section 14.
Sending an enquiry does not automatically create a booking or establish a therapeutic relationship. An appointment is confirmed only when the arrangements have been agreed directly with me.
Please keep your initial enquiry brief and avoid sending detailed medical, psychological or other sensitive personal information through the contact form or ordinary email. We can discuss your needs and the appropriate next steps when we speak.
Information about how personal data is handled is available in the Privacy Policy.
5. Fees, Payments and Cancellations
Any applicable fees, payment arrangements and cancellation terms will be discussed directly with you before your appointment is confirmed.
Please ensure that you understand and agree to the arrangements for your chosen service before proceeding.
If you book a service online, by telephone or by email, you may have statutory cancellation rights under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, depending on the circumstances.
Where applicable, if you request that a service begins during a statutory cancellation period, the legal requirements relating to early commencement and payment for services already provided will apply.
Nothing in these terms is intended to remove or restrict any consumer rights you have under applicable law.
6. Online Appointments
Online appointments are available as an alternative to in-person appointments in Hazlemere, Buckinghamshire.
You are responsible for having a suitable device, a reliable internet connection and a private environment in which to participate.
Please do not record an appointment without prior agreement.
Any practical arrangements for online sessions, including what happens if a technical problem interrupts an appointment, should be discussed directly before the session.
7. Emergency and Crisis Support
This website and my practice are not emergency or crisis services. Messages sent through the contact form or by email should not be used to request urgent assistance.
If you or someone else is in immediate danger, call 999.
For urgent mental health support, contact NHS 111, your GP or your nearest A&E department. Samaritans can also be contacted free of charge on 116 123, at any time.
The information provided on this website is general in nature and does not replace appropriate medical advice, diagnosis or treatment from your GP or another healthcare professional.
8. Confidentiality and Privacy
Information shared during therapy or assessment is handled confidentially, subject to applicable professional and legal obligations.
There may be circumstances in which information must be disclosed without consent, for example where required by law or where there are serious safeguarding or safety concerns.
Where appropriate and lawful, these circumstances will be discussed with you.
The Privacy Policy explains how personal information collected through the website is handled. The Cookie Policy explains the use of cookies and similar technologies.

You must not reproduce, distribute, republish or commercially exploit website content without prior written permission, except where permitted by law.
Any reports or written materials provided to you as part of a professional service are intended for their agreed purpose. Any applicable restrictions on their use or sharing will be explained separately.

This website may contain links to third-party websites and references to professional organisations, including the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), the British Psychological Society (BPS), the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP) and EMDR Association UK.

11. Liability
I aim to provide professional services with reasonable skill and care and to maintain accurate, useful information on this website.
The website is provided for general informational purposes. To the extent permitted by law, I am not responsible for loss arising solely from reliance on general website information or from temporary website unavailability.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited.
If you are a consumer, your statutory rights remain unaffected.
12. Changes to These Terms
I may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time to reflect changes to the website, my services or applicable legal requirements.
The date at the top of this page indicates when the terms were last updated.
Changes will not retrospectively alter the terms of an existing confirmed booking where doing so would be unlawful or inconsistent with an agreement already in place.
13. Complaints
If you have a concern about the website or my services, please contact me directly so that the matter can be discussed.
You may also contact the relevant professional or regulatory body where appropriate.
